Juhi Chawla Biography
Juhi Chawla is a popular actress in Bollywood. She is also a voice actress, film producer, television presenter and former Miss India (1984). Juhi Chawla won the Miss India beauty contest in 1984, and turned to acting. Her debut film was Sultanat (1986) but her first hit movie was the tragic romance Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988).
Besides working in Hindi films she has also worked in a few Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Punjabi, Bengali and Kannada films. She went on to establish herself as one of Hindi cinema's leading actresses and starred in films like Darr (1993), Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), Yes Boss (1997) and Ishq (1997).
Chawla was one of the leading actress in the 80's and 90's. After having starred in over 70 mainstream Hindi films, Chawla started acting in art and parallel cinema.
She gained critical recognition for her performances in films like Jhankaar Beats (2003), 3 Deewarein (2003), My Brother Nikhil (2005), Bas Ek Pal (2006), I Am (2011) and Gulaab Gang (2014).
Since 2000, Chawla has also entered into film production and television presenting. Chawla was the judge of third season of the dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. She is also co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders.
