Vicky Kaushal is an Indian model and actor. Who mainly works in Hindi Films. He was born on 16th May 1988 in Mumbai, Maharashtra in Punjabi Family. His father Sham Kaushal is a stuntman and action director Bollywood and hist mother Veena Kaushal is housemaker. He has a Younger brother Sunny Kaushal, Who is also a Bollywood actor. Vicky completed his engineering in electronics and telecommunications from the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology in Mumbai. Since childhood, he has keen interest in acting and drama. He took acting lessons from Kishore Namit Kapoor’s academy. While sharing childhood memory, He told them they used to live in chawl.
He started his career as an assistant director with Anurag Kashyap for Gangs of Wasseypur both part. He faced camera first time from Manav Kaul’s Laal Pencil film, He did a small role in this movie. Later He also done a small role Anurag Kashyap’s Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana and Bombay Velvet. He made his Bollywood debut as a lead actor from Neeraj Ghaywan’s Masaan alongside Shweta Tripathi. His performance was highly appreciated by critics and audiences. He bagged Best Male Debut award in Zee Cine and Screen Awards. He also won Star Debut of the Year award in International Indian Film Academy Awards. later he has done many notable films including Zubaan, Raman Raghav 2.0, Love per Square Foot, Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi alongside Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar’s Lust Stories. His performance from Raazi was highly praised by critics and this movie was a huge commercial hit.
He received national fame and popularity from Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju movie, He played Kamli’s character in this movie. again he gave the finest performance in this movie. His character loved by the audience. He won Best Supporting Actor award in Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards. In 2019, He started in Aditya Dhar’s Uri: The Surgical Strike movie. this movie based on the 2016 Uri attack. This movie becomes the biggest hit in Bollywood. He gots good reviews from critics. He has taken military and mixed martial arts training for five months for this movie. He also got injured while shooting this movie. But his hard work pays off. He won Best Actor award in National Film Awards for Uri. His upcoming movie based on freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh’s life, He is playing Udham Singh’s character in this movie. this movie is going release Jan 2021.
Besides movies, He also done a music video song called “Pachtaoge” alongside Nora Fatehi and sung by Arijit Singh. He also hosted Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards and Filmfare Awards.
